TNO

INTRODUCE YOURSELF . . .

My name is Edward Chikhwenda Jnr., I am 26 years old (Born on 15 April, 1992). I was born at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre and I currently reside in Chinyonga, Blantyre. My stage name is Tornado, also known as TNO in short.

WHO OR WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME AN ARTIST?

Music is basically what inspired me to become an artist. I was exposed to hip hop at a tender age and grew fascinated with music production in 2006. I started writing and recording my songs from around 2009 and my message was then inspired by my encounter with Jesus Christ in 2011 when I got saved.

WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO APART FROM MUSIC?

Apart from music I also do graphics designing, manage a movement for Go MAD which stands for Go Make a Difference; a movement whose mission is to equip young men with the word of God so that they can make a difference in society, make t-shirts and professionally work as a civil engineer at CEAR.

WHAT OTHER GENRES ARE YOU COMFORTABLE WITH?

I am not limited when it comes to genres but I am currently exploring afro sounds in my music. I have done trap music which I was mostly known for as well as hip hop and EDM but I am very versatile.

SAVED OR NOT SAVED?

Definitely saved, by his grace alone through faith in Christ Jesus.

WHAT'S THE TITLE OF YOUR MOST RECENT PROJECT?

I released an album on 24 November 2017 titled "Umunthu"

WHEN ARE TOU RELEASING YOUR NEXT PROJECT AND WHAT WILL IT BE CALLED?

I do not have a date yet for my next project. No title conceptualized yet. . .

WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS?

In the next 5 years I see myself with a well established brand in terms of both music and ministry. I would have endorsement deals and become ambassador for causes and big companies and hopefully be monetizing my music on online distribution platforms efficiently. God willing I could win one or two international awards and represent my country on the international scene and impact nations beyond Malawi with my music. I would also love to collaborate with some local artists who are my favorites too, the likes of Malala, Faith Mussa, David Kalilani and LiWu.

DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN THREE WORDS.

Motivated, Passionate, Focused . . .

ANYTHING ELSE?

I would love to encourage all the dreamers out there to never give up on their dreams. With God, all things are possible.
