INTRODUCE YOURSELF
My real name is Massah Topola. I am a Lilongwe-based Gospel Artist and I am 24yrs old. My stage name is 'Mastol' which is derived from my first name & surname.
WHO OR WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME AN ARTIST?
I grew up in an Adventist family and everyone in the house was a singer. Unfortunately, I wouldn't get the cords or hit the notes but I still loved and wanted to do music. Then I got introduced to rap/hip hop and I was like "I think this is the music I can do & be good at" and it's been all good since.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO APART FROM MUSIC?
Apart from music, I also do business. I am also an insurer but I've developed a passion for farming and currently that's what am pursuing.
WHAT OTHER GENRES ARE YOU COMFORTABLE WITH?
I've only tried rap/hip hop but I think I can do Kwaito, House and Dancehall.
SAVED OR NOT SAVED?
I got born again in 2011 ... so, yes, I am saved.
WHAT'S THE TITLE OF YOUR MOST RECENT PROJECT?
My most recent project was an album titled ANA AWA. It's a joint album I did with Mista Gray and it was released on 19 March 2018.
WHEN ARE YOU RELEASING YOUR NEXT PROJECT AND WHAT WILL IT BE CALLED?
My next project is a single titled HUSTLE YANGA and it will probably come out early next month (November).
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS?
In the next five years, I want my music to impact the nation, the continent and probably the world. It's my prayer that God should use me & my talent to change this world for the better and to prepare His people for His second coming.
